Tbilisi Airport Facts
The Tbilisi international airport is the official fleet base for both Georgian international airlines and Georgian Airways. The airport was recently renovated and reconstructed in the year 2007 and got upgraded with a new international terminal, car parking facilities, new runways and enhancements of ground transportation systems. There is also a railway link connected with the city Centre. The airport’s design provides for optimum flow of both luggage and passengers right from the parking to the entrance of the plane and have a total usable area of about 25,000 square meters. The food and beverage section of the airport tenders excellent services to attract international customers. By the year 2010, the airport handled about 8.2 lakh passengers and the statistics kept on increasing from 2006.
