Birjand Airport Facts
The airport started to operate as early as 1933 as the 3rd operational airport in the country. Though it is relatively a small airport that sends continuous aircrafts non-stop to Tehran and Mashhad. There is only one terminal available for passengers as of now and owing to the world of Mr. Dehgnan Noudeh, the airport witnessed paramount growth in terms of construction of police stations, a weather forecast station, and cargo terminals. The main runway used for domestic and international air carriers uses paved concrete surface. It is to be noted that when this airport first came into existence, it was none other than a desert and its improvement and modernization happened quite lately.
Arrival and Departure
There were numerous flights operated by the Pars Air from Baseman in Iran before the revolution which were cancelled after the revolution and once Iran air started operating flights through the Birjand airport. Other international carriers that fly across the airport includes the Iran air touching Tehran and Mashhad, Iran Air tours covering Baghdad and Mahan air again connecting with Tehran and Taban air to cover Damascus.
