Shiraz International Airport Facts
The Shiraz international airport is located in Iran in the Shiraz province and is by far the largest airport in the entire southern region of Iran. It is the major international airport of the Pars province which is the land for Persians. The airport has undergone a series of renovation and development across the years the airport got to be identified as the most reliable yet modern flight carrying system in the entire Iran, next only to the Imam Khomeini airport located in Tehran. The various advantages of this flight station include safety in controlling flight navigation and erection of safety control flight towers. The airport has two runways of approximately 4000 meters long and are both paved with Asphalt.
Arrival and departure
Domestic flights to most of the Iranian cities fly through this airport and there are several flights on a daily basis to the major Persian Gulf states which includes the UAE and Bahrain. The major aircrafts that fly across the Shiraz international airport are the Air Arabia international carrier that flies from Iran to Sharjah and Emirates that fly from Shiraz to Dubai. Other international flight carriers are the Iran Air, connection with London, Kuwait, Muscat, Bahrain, Dubai and Doha.
The Iraqi airways fly to Najaf and Baghdad and the Jazeera airways fly to Kuwait. Among the domestic carriers that arrive and depart at the Shiraz international airport, the important ones are the Kish air, The Mahan Air, Saha airline, Zagros air, Iran Aseman airlines, Iran air tours, fares air qestm, Aria air etc. The Shiraz international airport has about three terminals with two of them for arrival and departure of international flights and one catering to domestic carriers. Moreover, yet another terminal has been under construction to receive domestic flights.
