Bahrain International Airport Facts
The Bahrain international airport is located in Maharraq, an island at the northern tip of Bahrain and is located about 7 km from the capital city Manama. It is the primary hub for flight carriers such as the Gulf air and the Bahrain Air. The airport serves about 300 flights for about 4.2 million passengers every year. The airport is the main gateway for entering the gulf region and caters about 12 dedicated airlines flying to more scheduled destinations within the Gulf, Middle East and the Africa.
The entire area of the airport is about 50,000 square meters and is being renovated periodically with a post office, prayer room, food outlets, shopping centers, money exchange counters, baby care and nursery centers etc. The parking facility of the airport is worth mentioning as it is on three levels and covers a total space of 1900 sq. m. Currently the airport uses two runways, while the second one is used as a taxi way and not for landing and taking off. Both are paved with asphalt concrete. Arrival and Departure

Others include Gulf air, Jazeera airways, Bahrain air, British airways, Air India and Air India express, Kuwait Airways, Malaysia airlines, Emirates, Royal Jordanian, Dragon air etc. these flights fly across 41 destinations and India is the most popular destinations among them and caters to 18% of the total flight travels.
