Sulaymaniyah International Airport (ISU)

Sulaymaniyah International Airport, consisting of three terminals opened up in 2005, is situated about 15 km of the city center away. It contains a café and a shop to relax during your stay at the airport. The city of Sulaymaniyah with 1.5 million residents is the cultural capital of Kurdistan. Its economy is mostly based on agriculture and tourism and also steadily growing since 2003. Be prepared for very hot and dry summers but also very cold winters! The beautiful Iraq region of Kurdistan will welcome you! Arrivals and Departures Although the Sulaymaniyah International Airport is smaller than the one in Ebril lots of destinations can be reached from here. If you want to stay in Iraq you can fly to Erbil, Baghdad or Najaf. To go further and see the other great and various cultures of the Middle East you may want to fly to Istanbul-Atatürk, Dubai, Beirut, Damascus or Amman-Queen Alia.
