Hahn Air Lines GmbH, operating as Hahn Air, is a company with its head office in Dreieich, Germany. It has been specialised in providing global sales and distribution services to airlines for many years. Operating the industry"s leading universal ET (E-Ticketing) platform, Hahn Air has implemented agreements with more than 250 airlines worldwide, playing a leading role in generating extra revenue for its airline partners through global accessibility to all IATA and IATAN travel agents using any GDS in more than 190 markets (including 166 BSP, ARC and Non-BSP countries). To the industry, Hahn Air is known as the specialist of passenger airline ticketing and airline distribution worldwide.
History
In 1994 Hahn Air is found as independent regional carrier operating intra German routes. It is based at the former military airbase Hahn, today well-known as the Frankfurt Hahn Airport. In 1997 Hahn Air completes its first BSP memberships in Germany and obtains the two-letter-designator HR as well as the billing code 169. 1999, Hahn Air flights may be sold in GDS Amadeus: Hahn Air signs the first interline agreements with four airlines from Latin America: Avianca, Aerolinas Argentinas, Varig and LAN. This marks the official beginning of Hahn Air"s ticketing platform. In 2001, Hahn Air becomes an IATA member airline and joins additional BSP countries mainly in Europe, among them France, Great Britain and Spain.
Hahn Air starts to expand its GDS presence in Sabre, Galileo and Worldspan. In 2002, more BSP memberships are completed - including BSPs in several Asian countries and in Australia and New Zealand. Additional interline are signed with airlines worldwide. In November 2006, the airline successfully implemented the Amadeus Ticketing Platform (ATP) and as a result, Hahn Air is able to offer a complete e-ticketing solution, including worldwide distribution. Following IATA"s Simplifying the Business (StB) mandate, Hahn Air moved to 100% e-ticketing in June 2008. In 2010, Hahn Air operates flights between Düsseldorf International Airport (DUS) and Findel Luxembourg Airport (LUX) twice a week. As first airline ever, Hahn Air concludes insurance agreement with Generali Versicherung AG to assure travel agents the issuance of insolvency-safe tickets for all Hahn Air partner airlines on HR-169 documents.
In August, Hahn Air joins BSP Kosovo and therewith has covered all BSP markets in Europe. Besides, Hahn Air sets up local ticket offices in Non-BSP countries to achieve global presence and to make its ticketing service available to travel agents worldwide.
