Islas LÃneas AÃ©reas, operating as Islas Airways, is an airline based in Tenerife, Spain, offering scheduled inter-island services in the Canary Islands out of Tenerife North Airport.
Islas Airways was established in September 2001 in order to answer the scheduled flight shortage between the islands in the Canaries. The airline started operations in February 2003. In just 3 ears, the company has gained a significant market share. It has now launched with the opening of a flight between Tenerife North and Gran Canaria and this route is serviced by ATR-72. Once it has extended to areas within the Canaries, Islas Airways will widen its service and offer other destinations such as Madeira, Azores, various capital cities in Africa, connections from Venezuela and to major European cities.
