With an attempt to liberate customers from being forced into paying for services they do not desire or use, Spirit Airlines allows passengers to choose a low fare and select the services and options appropriate for their travel needs. Spirit’s clear baggage policies is one example: Free of charge for one personal carry-on bag and charging fees for checked baggage and larger carry-on bags.

Free carry-on bag

You are allowed to freely bring one carry-on bag only, and the bag must fit underneath your seat, with dimensions within 40 x 35 x 30 cm ( like a purse, small backpack, briefcase etc).

Besides, some other personal items such as an umbrella, camera, infant diaper bag, assistive devices, outer garments (coats/hats/wraps), stroller, reading material, food for the flight also free of charge.

Carry-on bag charges

Bags that have dimensions over 40x35x30 cm but not bigger than 56x46x25 cm (size of overhead bin) can be acceptable as extra carry-on bags.
Fees apply for these bags in all flights depend on member status of passenger and on the way you “purchase the seat” for your bags.

Fees for checked bags (bags have combined dimensions not over 158 cm and not weigh over 18.1 kg)

Fees for oversize and excessive weight bags

If you bring some bags that weigh over 18.1 kg, or have combined dimensions over 158 cm, you will be charge some extra fees.

For dimensions from 62-79 linear inches (158-202 cm): Add more100$
                          From 80-160 liner inches (203-406 cm): Add more 150$

For weight from 41-50 lbs (18.6-23 kg): Add more 25$
               From 51-70 lbs (23.1- 31.8 kg): Add more 50$
               From 71-99 lbs (32.2-44.9 kg): Add more 100$.

Spirit Airlines do not accept any bags that has dimensions over 160 linear inches (406 cm) or weigh over 100 lbs (45kg), please pay attention to this rule to prepare your baggage
